Personal Note

Holy Shit!! Performers tonight!! Who would've thunk it, but it's not just me for an hour, but that's about the way it goes, this week I WAS prepared for the worst. Anyways, you should stop reading right now if you at all want to know what really happened at Ted on this night, because about 15 minutes into Ted got a visit from Normal's finest and I ended up in the hall way for about ¾ of Ted trying to convince him that we indeed have a building permit for use of the room and that we are NOT destroying the building while we are here. So, since I really didn't see, but maybe three performance pieces at Ted, then the voting should be easy and the notes not very descriptive. Or, maybe they will be, but in a different kinda way. I wouyld use Matt's notes that he took, but they read, and I quote:

"Joel, poetry, heartfelt and deep man..."

Yep, that's about it folks. Leaves it wide open doesn't it. Anyways, on a serious note, I really do appreciate Russell being there and being able to take over on absolutely no notice.

Notes from TED

"Theatre of Ted, Enthusiastic Applause"

No real opener this week, I just improved some stuff and got everyone really excited thinking that the show was almost over.

Guither got up to present a little of the usual. About 5 minutes into him speaking, Jess walked around the room to where I was sitting. I thought that she was inspired and decided to sign up top perform, but no suck luck...In fact, horrible luck. She informed me that police officer was outside and was there to make sure we all left. So this marks my exit.

I had the thought of doing an entire recap of my conversation with the nice police officer that I had the fortunate opportunity of discussing issues with right outside of 301, as Ted was taking place. But then I thought about it, and I realized that the South Park website already has full textual copies of all of the conversations that Officer Barbrady has had. From those, you can decipher for yourself the usefulness of recapping a conversation with:

And after only an hour of deep philosophical discussions, I'm Back!!!

Just in time to see Jeff and Caitlyn make a "dramatic"(?) exit.

I did see Matt Russell display his skills as an artist as he brought up Cassie from the crowd and drew a portrait of her on the spot. As La Artist worked his magic, Cassie had the opportunity to talk about a new organization that she was helping to start up and got some free plug time (but then again it's all free at Ted). Russells portrait was near finished when he added the touch that made it truly special. Did anyone ever see "18 Again?" ...The life drawing scene? Yeah, something like that.

Joel brought back a poetic piece that he had been working on since a few Ted's ago and showed that he had it more completed and the reading of it was more sincere this time around and was easy to follow. A problem with some poetry at Ted is that the audience doesn't/can't keep up at times. Maybe it's because I had heard it before and saw the progress made, but this one worked for me.

Cassie came up an delivered a funny but contradictory piece entitled "Catholic School Girls." She put on a display of physicality throughout the monologue that added the element of contradiction to the piece by making it sexual on one hand and na•ve on the other. I LOVE this kinda stuff!! But hey, I'm just a guy, what do I know.
